Exhibit A July and August 2025 3 Richard Castor Jeffery: Bin Night Oils on cradled panel, 40 x 40 cm, 2024 ARTIST STATEMENT: “I’m interested in re fl ecting the everyday built environment, and am drawn to the abstract qualities of pattern, shape and colour that may otherwise go unnoticed. I fi nd these in abundance in the shopfronts and signage of Bristol’s Victorian shopping streets. I’m inspired at a deep level by architectural representation - how it strips away extraneous details and context, creating its own language. This can be both abstract and recognisable, representing the world in simpli fi ed and graphic terms. This piece, a group of shops on the Gloucester Road at twilight, captures that rare moment when the interiors of the shops are illuminated, seen in contrast against the rapidly fading colours of the exterior, giving an electric glow to the tapestry of the streetscape. ‘BRISTOL IN COLOUR’ Selected framed prints of the Gloucester Road are now available exclusively at Niche Frames, 4 - 6 Zetland Road, BRISTOL, BS6 7AE. nicheframes.co.uk. rcj f i neart.co.uk Front cover: VANESSA JACKSON ‘FIN KEEL’ (Oil on canvas, 214 x 183 cm, 2023) • ‘LINGER’ at Exeter Phoenix, 5 July - 30 August
