Headlines 7 Diary Dates HAIRCUT 100 Sherborne Travel Writing Festival Travel writer Rory MacLean has pulled together a list of celebrated speakers for Sherborne’s Travel Writing Festival this April. A dozen remarkable writers, journalists and publishers will again transport the audience with stories of their travels to the four corners of the globe. Sara Wheeler, in conversation with Colin Thubron, will celebrate the publication of her extraordinary Jan Morris: A Life . Adam Weymouth, winner of the Sunday Times Young Writer of the Year Award, will follow the paw prints of a young wolf named Slavc who travelled thousands of miles to the Italian Alps, where no wolves have lived for a century. Jen Stout picks up the theme of a world in turmoil with her book, Night Train to Odesa , the story of a freelance reporter making her own way across the war-torn country. The exhibition is the fi rst headline event in the lead up to a brand new arts and culture festival, the Yeovil Art Weekender , part of Yeovil Art Space’s Our Town project. The exhibition includes Postcard from Yeovil , a collection of original artworks contributed by artists who have supported Yeovil Art Space in the last 5 years, alongside open submissions from members of the Yeovil community of all ages and backgrounds. Visitors will also see two giant 8-foot high banners, fl ags and soft sculptures created by artists Sue Green and Alice Bowen- Churchill, who have been working with the community around the theme ‘Dream Big, Fly High’ and will lead a procession on Saturday 28th March. Yeovil Art Weekender brings people together to experience joy, inspiration, and a renewed sense of pride in the town.
