Dorset Art Weeks 2026 DORSET ART WEEKS 2026 • 6 Hidden away down a quiet lane in Monkton Wyld near Bridport is Little Goyle Studios (venue 235). JANE HEDGES' luminous paintings hinge on the emotions evoked by place. She breaks down her experiences of landscape, fragmented light seen though trees, though doors and windows into a rhythm of small interlocking geometric forms. IAN MIDDLETON sculpture responds to the “forces which shape our lives”. His work is a process of endless intellectual engagement with materials and ideas. CODA in Walkford (venue 81) is a music and arts trust which offers a range of opportunities to make and experience art and music across different demographics within the local community. Costume designer and maker NANCY BEARDALL has been making costumes for theatre and opera companies for nearly thirty years whilst RACHEL KINGSBURY describes herself as “an upholstery junkie with a passion for funky caravan interiors”. RACHAEL WILLIAMS is a jewellery designer and educator who is heavily inspired by the natural world. These resident artists will provide a wide range of workshops in ceramics, printmaking, painting, sewing and jewellery-making. Finally to SOPHIE MOLLINS, photographer, fi lmmaker and anthropologist (venue 203) who famously sent a divorced friend’s wedding dress into space and fi lmed it! She will be revisiting the work, previewed in DAW 2024, which became The Dorset Pavilion at the Venice Biennale. She has produced a book about the history of that exhibition and its subsequent outings with additional material by Horatio Morpurgo, Dr Paul Lashmar and Elfrieda Stovin. She will also be showing work about books, words and trees. So in a way this venue encapsulates the DAW experience, which is evident in so many of these venues. It is about Dorset and about the making of work in response to a place, a time and a history and all of the processes and experimentation that that involves.
